In many parts of the world there is only 230 VAC and three phase power is common. Here the kiln runs on a three phase power source and the controller is powered by 230 VAC. This Auber Syl-2372P is great as it will function using any source from 85 volts to 240 volts which makes it a real world traveler.

In this kiln I have placed three elements of a standard make like the E230-14-158 (3220 watts each). If these were powered using single phase the kiln would draw 42 amps to provide the 9660 watts of power. But by using three phase power this kiln only draws 24.22 amps to provide the same 9660 watts. This means the wiring and components delivering the power can be of a smaller gauge which would represent a good savings for set-up costs.
